understanding of pillar isalam
The first pillar: Witnessing there is no god who is rightfully worshiped but God and Muhammad is the messenger of God
This shahadat (testimony) has the meaning of uttering orally, justifying it by heart and then practicing it through deeds. As for the person who uttered it verbally but did not know its meaning and did not practice it then there is no benefit at all with the shahadah.
The meaning of "La ilaha Illallah"
That is; no one is entitled to be worshiped haq on earth or in the heavens but Allah alone. He is the god who is a god (god) other than Him is vanity. Medium is the meaning ma'bud (the worshiped). It literally means: "There is no god but God"
The one who worships other than Allah is a disbeliever and idolatrous against Allah even though he is a prophet or guardian. Although he reasoned in order to get closer to Allah ta'ala and bertawulul to him. For the polytheists who disqualified the Apostles, they did not worship the prophets and the guardians and the solemn people but by using this excuse. But that is the reason vanity again rejected. Because closer to Allah ta'ala and bersawasul to Him should not by way of deviating worship to other than God. Rather it is only by the use of His names and attributes, by the deeds of His righteous deeds such as prayer, shodaqah, remembrance, fasting, jihad, pilgrimage, devotion to parents and others, as well as the interceding prayers of a living believer and be present before him when praying.
Worship is diverse:
Among them are praying for a need where only God can do such as bringing down rain, healing the sick, eliminating the distresses that can not be done by the creature. As well as begging heaven and surviving from hell, begging offspring, rizki, happiness and so forth.
All this can not be asked except to God. Who begs that thing to a living creature alive or dead means he has worshiped it. Allah ta'ala says to command His servants to pray only to Him as to preach that prayer is a form of worship. Who toucheth other than Allah then he belongs to the inhabitants of hell. "And Robmu said:
Pray to Me, I will permit you. Those who boast of My worship (ie pray to Me besides Me) will go to hell in a state of despair (Al Mukmin: 60)
Among the forms of worship: Tawakal, Roja (hope) and Khusyu '.
Man should not trust except Allah, should not expect but Allah, and should not khusyu 'but to God alone.
The form of associating with Allah among others is to pray to other than God either in the form of those who are still alive again or to the inmates of the grave. Do thowaf in their graves and ask to be filled with their intentions to them. This is a form of worship to other than Allah where the culprit is no longer referred to as a Muslim even professing Islam, pronouncing la ila illallah Muhammad rasulullah, doing prayer, fasting and even pilgrimage to the baitullah.
